How Hooked handles payments, deliveries, data and your theme — before you install anything.
No. Recurring payments run on your own Razorpay account and prepaid bundles can run through your own Shopify checkout. Money settles directly with you. Hooked orchestrates the subscriptions, delivery cycles and Shopify orders around those payments.
Yes. Recurring plans use Razorpay subscriptions, which support UPI Autopay, cards and e-mandates — the payment methods Indian subscribers actually complete.
Recurring plans charge the customer automatically every cycle via Razorpay. Prepaid plans take one upfront payment for the whole bundle, and Hooked schedules every delivery on its due date. Prepaid can optionally run through your native Shopify checkout, keeping your existing payment setup.
You map a prepaid plan to a Shopify product variant priced at the full bundle amount. Customers buy it through your store's normal checkout; the moment Shopify confirms the order, Hooked provisions the subscription and all delivery cycles automatically — idempotently, so webhook retries can never double-provision.
No. The widget is a standard Shopify theme app block: one small script, no theme file edits, and it is removed cleanly if you uninstall. It connects through your store's own domain (app proxy), inherits your fonts and is fully themeable — presets plus a JSON theme for exact brand matching.
A “Manage subscription” link — in the widget, on any page via the Manage block, or from their Shopify account — takes logged-in customers to a personal portal. There they can skip a delivery, pause with an automatic resume date, reschedule a delivery, edit their box contents or cancel with a reason. No support ticket needed.
A build-your-own-box page you add from the theme editor. You define the sizes you sell — a 6-pack, a 12-pack — and each one links to a real Shopify variant with its own price, so prices, savings and stock come straight from your catalogue. Customers pick what goes inside, watch the box fill, and can unlock a free gift at a threshold you set. When they check out it becomes a subscription rather than a one-off purchase, on whichever payment method you chose for that box.
Yes. They can edit the contents of upcoming deliveries from the portal until the order is created. Each Shopify order carries the selections as proper line items with real SKUs, so inventory is counted against the right variants rather than against one opaque bundle line.
Failed webhooks are retried automatically with a capped retry count. Paid cycles that are missing orders are rebuilt by recovery jobs. Duplicate events are rejected by idempotency keys. Anything that cannot self-heal becomes a prioritised issue in the admin with a suggested fix.
Yes. The Sync Center imports your existing Razorpay subscriptions, matches historical payments to delivery cycles and backfills Shopify orders — with every action recorded in the audit log.
Installation and setup are free. Hooked charges 1.5% of subscription revenue, billed monthly, only on orders Hooked actually created (exclusive of GST). No fixed fees, no per-seat fees, no order caps.
No. The live demo shows a clearly-labelled fictional store (“Aurea Botanicals”) with internally consistent illustrative data, so you can explore every screen without connecting anything.
Hooked stores subscription, cycle, order and customer contact records needed to operate your subscriptions, scoped to your shop on every query. Gateway credentials are stored AES-256-GCM encrypted. Card and UPI credentials never touch Hooked — they stay with Razorpay and Shopify. See the Security page for the full picture.
